About / Black Circuit
One organization.
Four fields of practice.
Black Circuit gives different kinds of work a clear home without pretending that systems, images, worlds, and publications are isolated from one another.
The shared principle
Structure and expression belong together.
The technical structure of a system shapes how it can be experienced. The visual structure of an image shapes what it can communicate. Editorial and interactive structures do the same in sequence and time.
Across every division, the work begins by finding the underlying shape of a problem and making that shape deliberate, legible, and durable.
Division boundaries
A primary home
for every project.
Digital Architecture
Owns software, platforms, infrastructure, and organizational systems.
02Game Studios
Owns games, playable systems, interactive development, and worldbuilding.
03Image & Form
Owns image-making, graphic design, identity, and conceptual object studies through final render.
04Publishing
Owns books, editions, writing, and editorial artifacts.
How collaboration works
Clear ownership.
Visible contribution.
Each project has one primary division determined by its defining output. Other divisions are credited when their disciplines materially shape the work. A designed book remains a Publishing project with Image & Form contributing; a software platform with a visual identity remains Digital Architecture with Image & Form contributing.
